   About Tae Kwon Do

student pictureTae Kwon Do is a modern martial art from Korea that is characterized by its fast, high and spinning kicks. It is action philosophy, the Korean art of self-defense.

Literally translated, it means "Foot, Hand, Art". However, it is much more than kicking and punching. It is designed as a non-violent martial art, a system of entire body practice, and a way of life. It includes physical and mental discipline with deep philosophy and it is a guide for the formation of outstanding character and a modern world sport.

The philosophy of Tae Kwon Do is not to promote violence. Our purpose of training is to make a better person. Master An's school places a strong emphasis on respect, self-discipline, confidence and judgment. These skills, combined with Tae Kwon Do skills, enable Master An's students to defend themselves should the need ever arise.
